David “Dave” Robert Teegarden, 59, of Buckner, MO, passed away Sept. 16, 2012, at Vitas Hospice, Kansas City, MO. Visitation was at 6-8 p.m. Wed., Sept. 19, at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO. Funeral Service were held at 10:30 a.m. Thurs., Sept. 20, at First Baptist Church of Buckner, in Buckner, MO. Burial in Buckner Cemetery.

Dave was born April 8, 1953, in Oakland, CA, to Bob & Ruth Carol (Myers) Teegarden. He was a 1971 graduate of Raytown High School. On June 16, 1990, he married his soul mate, Beth Lyons. Following graduation David served in the U.S. Navy. In 1986, David joined the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier. During his 29- year career, David served several terms as president of his local union. David was a beloved man by all the customers he served on his route. David’s love of photography and his extraordinary skill brought joy to all he shared his gift with. David was an avid bowler, fisherman and reader. David was loved by all who knew him. He was a true friend and always went the extra mile for those in need. David was preceded in death by his mother: Ruth Myers Teegarden; sister: Cynthia “Cindy” Forck. David is survived by his wife: Beth (Lyons) Teegarden of the home; son: Joshua David Teegarden of Geneva, Switzerland; father: Bob Teegarden & wife Jean of Ft. Myers, FL; sister: Debra Teegarden Loheide & husband Don of The Villages, FL; his beloved dog, Shay; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and many close loving friends.
