Rob Ames, age 59, of Buckner,
MO passed away, Monday, March
24, 2014. Rob was born January 26,
1955 in Buckner, MO to William
Robert “Bob” Ames, Sr. and Shirley
H. (Thomas) as one of three children.
He graduated from Fort Osage High
School.
Rob married his beloved wife, Alice
(Oliver) on January 21, 1977. In 1979
he began his 32 year career at the
Sibley Power Plant as a Journeyman
Mechanic. In 1980, Alice and Rob’s
daughter was born. He enjoyed
fishing, gardening, woodworking, and
especially training his black labs to
bird hunt with him. He is remembered
as a loving family man and husband
who was a great grill cook. He is loved
and will be missed.
He is survived by wife, Alice, of the
home; daughter, Mandy Lawson; sonin-
law, Jason Lawson both of Blue
Springs, MO; granddaughter, Maddi
Ames Lawson; sister Sheila Biegler of
Spokane, WA; brother, Bret Ames of
Buckner, MO; father, Bob; nephews,
Scott and Matt Biegler; sister-in-law
Ann Gray of Overland Park, KS; and
aunt, Jan Mershon of Buckner, MO. He
was preceded in death by his mother.
The family encourages contributions
to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and
Ducks Unlimited in his memory.
Services were held on Friday, March
28, 2014 at Heart of God Church.
