Dalton Hugh Hahn, 90, Independence, MO, went to be with the Lord on May 15,
2012, surrounded by his family. Dalton was born February 26, 1922 in Sedalia, MO
the son of Carl William and Julia Ann (Enloe) Hahn. He spent his earlier years in
Moniteau County near Enon, MO before enlisting in the U.S. Navy and serving his
country from 1942-1948. On October 16, 1948 he married Eula Marie. Dalton retired
from Sears mail order after 34 years of service. After retirement he volunteered at the
Medical Center of Independence and the Fort Osage School District for a number of
years. Dalton was an active member of Susquehanna Baptist Church where he was a
devoted Sunday School teacher and a Deacon Emeritus. Survivors include his loving
wife Eula Marie Hahn of 63 years of the home; son, Roger Hahn and wife Paula
of Olympia, WA; daughter, Linda Grimes and husband Richard of Independence,
MO; granddaughters, Rebecca Bruch and husband Robert, Mary Ward and husband
Anthony of Independence, MO; great grandchildren, Megan, Hannah, and Myla
Bruch, Katelyn, Haley and Isaac Ward; nephew, Bob Hahn of North Carolina.
Dalton was preceded in death by his brother and parents. Funeral services will be
at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2012 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St.,
Independence, MO, 64055. Burial to follow at Floral Hills Cemetery with Military
Honors. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu
of flowers, contributions may be made to Susquehanna Baptist Church or Odyssey
Hospice. The family would like to thank all the medical staff in the past years and
the loving, caring supports received from Carmel Hills. And a special thank you to
