Wyona May “Nona” Parrett, age 83, of Buckner, MO passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2013. A visitation was held on. Sunday, November 3rd at Speaks Suburban Chapel. A graveside service was held on. Monday, November 4th at Mt. Washington Cemetery, Independence, MO.
Nona was born August 26, 1930 in El Dorado, KS as one of thirteen children, to William A. and Elizabeth A. (Webster) Blake. She graduated from El Dorado High School. After relocating to Buckner, MO she worked for over 18 years at Lake City Army Ammunitions Plant. Nona was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Buckner. She was the city Alderman, volunteered for Meals on Wheels and enjoyed her flowers and garden. Nona will be remembered as a wonderful grandmother and friend. She is loved and will be missed.
Nona is survived by daughter, Cheryl Danner and husband Joe of Oak Grove, MO; son, Russell “Rusty” Maycock of Leavenworth, KS; son, Gordon Maycock of Houston, TX; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert, Albert, Thomas, Bill and Danny Blake; sisters, Laura Turner, Helen Brown, Shirley Grim, and Connie Walker. She was preceded in death by husband Robert T.
